Ownership Change Major
November 1993

CenterMark sold to a Westfield-led consortium

In November 1993 the CenterMark portfolio, including Topanga Plaza, was sold to a joint venture of Westfield Holdings, General Growth Properties and Whitehall Street Real Estate. Management of Topanga fell to Westfield.

SINGLE SOURCE, per Amendment 001. Sources also disagree on the effective year of Westfield’s control: the November 1993 agreement is variously reported as completing in 1993 and as a 1994 acquisition, and one account describes Prudential selling a 42 percent CenterMark stake rather than the whole company.

This is the second of the two flagged single-source claims in the gap window. Do not publish a clean ownership narrative until the transaction structure is documented from filings.
