About
Topanga Archive is an independent, volunteer-maintained public record of the enclosed shopping center at Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Victory Boulevard, Canoga Park, opened in 1964.
Editorial standards
Never fabricate. Never reproduce. Always summarise in original words, always cite, always link to the original. Fact is separated from opinion; rumours are labelled as rumours, in the interface and not only in the data. When sources disagree, both are preserved and the discrepancy is documented. Nothing is ever deleted — outdated information is archived and labelled, not removed.
Sourcing
Everything here comes from the public record: newspapers, permits, planning files, trade press, and material contributed by the community. Every citation resolves to a source with a stated trust tier. Nothing sourced from anything but the public record appears.
Contribute material
Worked here, shopped here, or hold photographs, documents, or ephemera? The record is never finished, and the gaps are widest in the years no one photographed. Contributions are reviewed before publication, and attribution is shown exactly as you ask.
Corrections
A correction never overwrites the record it fixes — it creates a new one, and the old version is marked superseded and kept. If something here is wrong, tell us what and where, and it will be traced to its source.
